Kudos to The Huffington Post for leading me to this. Peggy Noonan, the current Wall Street Journal columnist and former Ronald Reagan speechwriter, was caught on a live mic yesterday calling the choice of Sarah Palin “political bullshit.”
I couldn’t agree more.
This has nothing to do with Palin being a woman (although it wouldn’t surprise me if some Johnny-come-lately feminist comments on here that I am a sexist because there is no other defense of her pathetic record). This has everything to do with McCain’s selection being a political blow job to the conservative right.

Ahem… cough, cough… I think I might be sick because…
I agree with PEGGY NOONAN?
Uggggghhhh.
But seriously, she’s right. This firebrand from the frozen north has solidified all of my preconceived notions. She is no different from the flaming culture warriors of the Bush elections. A despotic, “moral” crusader, who scoffs at progressive tax policies in the same breath as calling a man raised by a single mother on food stamps an elitist.
Peggy Noonan is right. This is nothing but political bullshit.

I really like Politico’s take on this:
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13143.html
“On behalf of the elite media, I would like to say we are very sorry. We have asked questions this week that we should never have asked.”

That quote alone saps the article of the dripping sarcasm that runs through it.
Good stuff Ben Simon.

I came across that amazing Politico column when Drudge linked to it thinking it was real. It took them at least a couple of hours for the biting sarcasm to hit them across the head before they realized what it was actually saying.
Well done, Ben Simon.
