A Rundown of Caucus Coverage

January 03, 2008 by Mike W · 0 comments

Happy caucus day, fellow political junkies!

  • The first place you’ll want to check consistently is the front page of the Des Moines Register. That’s the end-all, be-all.
  • Zogby has Hillary in third, Huckabee in the lead
    • Always good to check how the markets are predicting the outcome.
  • The NYT provides a solid rundown in their election guide
  • David Yepsen, Iowa political reporter extraordinaire, writes a heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers and campaign workers, and predicts a record turnout.
  • Some folks aren’t too keen on Iowa being the bellweather for our elections
  • 8 questions Iowa could answer.
  • The field is truly wide open.
  • It looks like the Dems may draw more independents (Indies can caucus for either R or D in Iowa)
  • The last pitches from the candidates.
  • The party tone and image is at stake for the Democrats.
  • This may be it for Fred… so much for being the savior, eh?
  • A good friend of mine is in Iowa and will be providing some thoughts on the proceedings here.
  • The closing ads. This one’s my favorite:

Enjoy caucus day! And if you’re an Iowa resident, please participate. If you’re not from Iowa, don’t worry there’s a good chance you’ll be voting by February 5th!
