Michigan, eh?

The republican race has a chance to narrow today with voting taking place in the lovely state of Michigan, where the focus is on a shitty economy and why American cars is still oh so awesome. The Mittster is staking his campaign’s last waking breath to this state as it is where he was born and where his father was a rather popular governor. Easy win right? Well not so fast. It turns out Michiganders like Johnny Mac. They voted for him in 2000 and polls are showing a seriously close race.

Add in to the equation that there is a movement by some on the left to get democrats in the state to vote for Mitt. (note: The democratic primary is worthless. MI moved up its date against DNC rules and was stripped of its delegates. The only candidates on the ballot are Hillary, Kucinich, and Uncommitted.) Personally, I think this is a great idea. It further muddles the republican primary and gives Mitt, the biggest doofus of the bunch, a chance to take the nomination.

Prediction: I think Mitt will take it in a squeaker, just because everything that has happened in this election has been weird so far. Mitt winning because of a bunch of democrats voting for him perfectly falls into the weirdness.
